IN-HOME TREATMENT
Alden Beane provides supportive, instructive, and preventative care to address the wellness needs and quality of life of your pets, in the comfort of their own homes.
Pre-operative home visit
Facing surgery with your dog is no small affair… Do you know what to expect and how to be best prepared for your dog’s return from surgery? Having this information ahead of time will ensure that your dog’s transition is as smooth and seamless as possible, and that he is set up for success.
In this one hour session I will…
- Answer the questions you have about the specific procedure
- Let you know what to expect
- Help you prepare your home/ his post op space
- Go over what things you’ll want to have on hand
- Discuss what limitations / restrictions your dog will face post op and how to integrate them into his life successfully
- I will also perform bodywork and cold laser if appropriate
Post-operative home visits
In this one hour session I will…
- Assess your dog and let you know if he is where he should be in the recovery phase
- Alert you to possible concerns
- Address functional issues you may be having in light of your dog’s limitations
- Provide support and insight on how to rearrange your routine in simple ways to accommodate your dog’s post op requirements
- Perform and teach you massage and passive range of motion for your dog to improve mobility and increase comfort
- Demonstrate and write down simple gentle rehab exercises you can easily work into your daily routine
- Provide class 3 B cold laser to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, boost healthy cell production, release endorphins and help to manage pain amongst other things
Swim sessions at YOUR home
If you have a swimming pool, I am offering pre-op, post-op, and senior wellness hydrotherapy sessions.
Senior comfort and wellness home visits
The goal of these sessions is to empower you to be part of improving and maintaining your dog’s quality of life as he ages. I can teach you small, easy ways to make your dog’s life more comfortable and less stressful. With guidance, you’ll be able decrease your dog’s discomfort and pain, and improve your dog’s overall quality of life through minor changes in your routine. I will also use massage, passive range of motion stretching, and class 3 B cold laser to improve circulation, increase mobility, and provide pain relief.
Quality of life/end of life counseling
Having worked with dogs for more than 2 decades, I’ve been side-by-side with hundreds of people during their beloved dog’s last months, weeks, and days. During this one hour session, I will answer questions, make observations and suggestions, and offer insight and support as you navigate this complicated, emotional, and often overwhelming time.
Proactive wellness home visit
I also offer 1:1 sessions in your home teaching passive range of motion/bodywork and injury prevention geared to a healthy companion, performance dogs, and working dogs.
